How I Work With Clients

Taxes are a conversation.

I’m “old school”. My preference is to prepare your return together in person so we can talk through everything. First we start by reviewing your documents to make sure we have everything we need. If something is missing, we talk about it before moving forward.

While I’m preparing the return, we’ll talk. Sometimes about the return itself, sometimes about other financial questions that come up along the way.

When your return is finished, we’ll review the year together so you understand the result. If you’d rather drop off or work virtually we can review your return on a video call.

If I have your prior-year return, we’ll compare the two years and talk about what changed — income, withholding, deductions, or anything else that affected the outcome.

We’ll also discuss whether anything should change for the coming year.

My goal is simple: an accurate return and a client who understands their taxes.
